Thank you Vijay for your response. I have attempted to fix this problem now twice with Samsung support and have been unsuccessful.
They had me first recalibrate the battery by draining it and then recharging it. Next they had me download their update program and install a settings function. This was supposed to give me access to the power management feature under settings that allowed me to disable the battery life extender so I could get a full charge.
Unfortunately there was no power management feature located in settings. I tried again to install the battery life extender software, but I still get the same error message that the proper drivers are not installed. I'd really like to be able to get a full charge on my battery so I have maximum power when traveling, but can't seem to find the solution to this problem. Every thing I read says to adjust the battery life extender or disable it in the BIOS setup, but I don't have the option to do either.
Any additional thoughts? I was actually just able to fix the problem myself. I restarted the computer and hit F2 at the Samsung logo to access the BIOS settings screen, where I went through the menu and changed the battery settings. I'm actually quite surprised that the Samsung support team didn't advise me on that course of action as it was far easier than trying to download new drivers and software!
