Thanks for the quick reply. Contact sync was already switched on, I turn it off and back on again to see if that would cause the contacts to appear but nothing happened.

This looks like a bug in Windows 10! No Google accounts will sync. I tried another account I have just to make sure that it wasn't something to do with my Google account and that one didn't sync either.
